Welcome to B.I.A.S. Games!

What is B.I.A.S. Games? It is a website founded by Paul Atherton, an avid role-playing gamer as the host of a game, Game Master, and player. He is also into scuba diving, digital photography, reading (esp. sci-fi/fantasy), mathematics, computer programming, and travelling (esp. cruising). Various sections of this site will be dedicated to some, if not all, of these topics.

B.I.A.S. Games began as a concept during an RPG session among four friends. The name was initially an acronym of the first letters of each of their last names. We began lamenting the short-coming of the various role-playing game systems in existence. So, we decided to create our own system. We wanted a system that was adaptable. It needed to be usable with any genre…high-fantasy, low-fantasy, science fiction, super heroes, horror, action/adventure, the Wild West, the roaring 20’s, or any other setting. Moreover, the system needed to be adaptable to anything from full “theater of the mind” to full tactical simulation, or anything between.

With this in mind we started developing a System with each concept having a three-pronged approach… Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced. This became the beginnings of the B.I.A.S. Role-Playing Game, which is now under development. This site will dedicate a section to this game, its development, play-testing, marketing, etc.
